How it works
Installed a day before with stakes or water barrels; sidewalls, lights and fans are add-ons. Large tents may need a fire marshal permit.
How much to plan
Seated dinner about 12 to 15 sq ft per guest (20 by 40 seats about 66); add dance floor and buffet space.

Houston notes

  • In hurricane season (June 1 - Nov 30) ask about the vendor's wind and storm policy and when they will take the tent down.
  • Houston storms pop up fast in spring and summer. Ask the vendor about their rain and wind policy, and have a backup spot.
  • This can need a city, park, fire or sound permit, or the venue's OK. Check before you book.
